A Pizzle? Fo Shizzle!
Hi
Happy and I have been enjoying bully sticks for quite some time. My mom didn’t think much about where they came from. She was more interested in the fact that they kept me busy and quiet when people come to visit. I get a little excited and nervous, having something to chew on helps, so I don’t bark at people. One day she asked the girl at the pet store where they came from. The girl looked embarrassed and said from a cow. So, when mom got home she looked at the label and it said something like “bovine pizzle”. Mom wanted to be sure to know exactly what I was eating (she had a sneaking suspicion) and here is what she found. I don’t really spend a lot of time thinking about where my food comes from. The bully sticks do keep me busy and help relieve my anxiety. Sure, it is a little awkward to think about what part of the bovine it is from. But, I can live with this.

Sadie,
My human passed along some advice to me he got from a friend of his when he used to travel in the Orient. When they’d go out to eat and his friend would order something in Thailand, or Indonesia, or Malasyia, etc. and my human would ask, “What’s this?” The reply would always be, “Eat, don’t ask.” One time my human insisted on knowing what he was eating because it was delicious. When he learned what it was, Fish Eye Soup, he never asked again. Sometimes it’s just better not to know!

I will pass that on to my mom. That is very good advice. In fact I often eat things that I don’t know for sure what they are! Woowoowoo
Have you guys tried the antlers yet?
I have tried antler pieces but not full on antlers. Mom ordered one for me from Nip and Bones to try. I do like my antler pieces, they are from ELK! woowowoowoo I <3 you Amanda! wowoowowoowooooo
Oh that’s so funny! I get pizzle too, usually at the pub after I’ve had some tripe to eat. Pizzle keeps me occupied for a nice long time. I think bully stick is a good name for it. Granny won’t let me eat it at her house though… she won’t even touch tripe. I eat pigs and cows ears, lungs and liver.. and I’ve had cows lips too. Mum drew the line at puffed pigs noses because they looked just like, er, well, just like pigs snouts!!
I had my first antler piece at Christmas… bit too much like hard work but I still liked it.
Definitely best to just nom & not think too much about it!
It’s so true, nom and not think about it! BOL My mom gives them to me to be quiet too. I have had a lot of those things you talked about. I even ate a cow’s heart one time! I think if you keep at the antler you’ll enjoy it. I’ve had mine awhile and enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by! Woowoowoo!
Oh my, I might stick to those Greenie stix!
